Required Coursework (6 courses, 18 credits)
Every student is expected to complete the following 6 courses as part of the Higher Education and Student Affairs program:
- Foundations of Higher Education (expected to be taken during the first semester)
- Internship Seminar (expected to be taken during the first semester)
- College Student Learning and Development (advised to be taken during the first year)
- Diversity in Higher Education
- Leadership in Higher Education or International Perspectives on Higher Education Reform
- Research Approaches & Techniques in Postsecondary Education
Elective Coursework (6 courses, 18 credits)
There is no set track that Higher Education students need to decide on as part of the program. However, students may choose to tailor their students to meet a specific interest or track. Below are some examples of elective courses within the Higher Education Program that students have taken.
Remember, students are able to take courses in other programs as well. If a course in another program strikes your interest, make sure to bring it up to your advisor for approval.
